El Rocío

Patio

An Andalusian patio located in the village of El Rocío (Almonte – Huelva), in the heart of the Doñana National Park.

The owners of this property have left their mark on the place giving it an almost magical character.

The availability of structural elements in the courtyard such as the staircase, bar, fountain and large pots provide a balance between volumes, not giving the sensation of lack of space.

The selected species are characteristic of the area; Ivy geranium (Pelargonium peltatum), geraniums (Pelargonium zonale), Jasmine (Jazminum officinale), Bougainvilleas (Bougainvillea spectabilis), Pilistras (Aspidistra elatior) and many others that are not, Tecomaria (Bignonia capensis), Scheffleras (Schellera arboricola), Ficus (Ficus benjamina), Clivias (Clivia miniata), agapanthus (Agapanthus africanus) and Costilla de Adan (Monstera deliciosa).

Birds nest all over the patio and when the sun’s rays shine in they go to the Cordobese fountain and cool down there. Is this not a piece of heaven?
